Job Description:


One of the largest banks in the region (Shari’a Compliant) is seeking a Director to create its
Project Management Office (PMO). The PMO Director will be responsible for the development of the
strategic vision for the PMO. The successful candidate will structure and oversee project
management staff, processes, and support the growth of the bank within a defined methodology.



Key duties and responsibilities of this position include:


· Drive project management strategy and standards that are consistent across company.

· Set and manage project management procedures, metrics and tools.

· Guide a team of project managers responsible for planning, executing, controlling and
closing projects against budget, schedule and performance plans.

· Monitor effectiveness and efficiency of project management resources, from initiation
through delivery.

· Provide scheduling support of project resources.

· Create an atmosphere of innovation and promote professional growth.

· Develop training and supporting materials and deliver training to project managers.

· Provide assistance and support to other business units with Project Management staff
including hiring, establishing and tracking goals, assigning workload, training and participating
in the performance review process.


· Coach and mentor cross-functional teams across the bank.

· Work closely with the IT department and other business units to identify new project
requests, risks, issues, dependencies, budgets and resource constraints for enterprise programs

· Provide input into overall PMO budget and track expenses for both the department’s budget
and for individual projects




Qualifications:


· BS degree or higher in business or technical field; masters degree preferred

· Minimum of 7-10 years experience in a Program/Project Management leadership capacity and
MUST be with banks/investment groups/ or any financial institute

· Program/Project Management certification is a MUST, e.g. PMI-PMP, Pgmp, etc

· Past work experience in the financial services industry with the same position is a MUST
· Fluent in MS Office applications including MS Project.

· Candidate must have the ability to lead a diverse team in a fast-paced environment, and
possess excellent analytical and organizational skills.

· Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of organization, including executive
management
