Job Title: Construction Progress Coordinator
Department: Planning & Development
SUMMARY
Directs activities concerned with contracts for purchase of equipment,
materials, products, or service by performing the following duties personally or
through subordinate supervisors.
Inspects and oversees construction of buildings, and other types of construction
work to ensure that procedures and materials comply with plans and
specifications by performing the following duties.
Records and reports progress of construction work by performing the following
duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Examines estimates of material, equipment, and production costs, performance
requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Prepares RFP, process specifications, test and progress reports, and other
exhibits that may be required.
Reviews bids from other firms for conformity to contract requirements and
determines acceptable bids.
Negotiates contract with bidder.
Awards and administers contracts, including final approval of payment.
Requests or approves amendments to or extensions of contracts.
Advises planning and production departments of contractual rights and
obligations.
Compiles data for preparing estimates.
Maintains contract and contractor status databases.
Reviews all correspondence concerning contractors and responds as necessary.
Establishes and maintains contact with contractors to ensure the smooth working
of the contract awarding process.
Coordinates fulfillment of contracts.
Acts as liaison between company and contractors.
Observes work in progress to ensure that procedures followed and materials used
conform to specifications.
Examines workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standard and
approves installation.
Interprets blueprints and specifications for Contractor and discusses deviations
from specified construction procedures to ensure compliance with regulations
governing construction.
Records quantities of materials received or used during specified periods.
Maintains daily log of construction and inspection activities and compares
progress reports.
Computes monthly estimates of work completed and approves payment for
contractors.
Prepares sketches of construction installations that deviate from blueprints and
reports such changes for incorporation on master blueprints.
Orders procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to
conform to work schedules.
Confers with and directs supervisory personnel and contractors engaged in
planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and
coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications
and the adherence to construction schedules.
Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts
work schedules as indicated by reports.
Directs workers concerned with major maintenance or reconditioning projects for
existing installations.
Reviews information such as daily record of activities (log), records of
materials received and used, and reports from various workers/contractors.
Prepares and types report.
Inspects and measures work completed.
Photographs construction work at various stages of completion to report progress
pictorially.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of
contractors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the
contract requirements. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and
directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or one to two
years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education
and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets common scientific and technical
journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common
inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the
business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that
conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present
information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical
inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and
proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete
variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to
interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or
schedule form.

Candidate MUST be:
1) A resident of Saudi Arabia with transferable Iqamah (for expats)
2) Bilingual (Excellent command over English & Arabic)
3) Highly Qualified and experienced
4) Possess transferable Iqamah
5) Not very aged - Candidates between 25 - 45 years of age would be considered.
Please note that Candidates with transferable iqamahs and living in any part of
Saudi Arabia must be ready to meet for an Interview in Riyadh. No telephonic
interviews shall be conducted and no Visas are provided. Remuneration is always
discussed personally by our Client Team Managers, however the candidate's
current renumeration will be considered before offering them.
