Cogeneration Engineer

Job Location : Eastern Province OF Saudi Arbaia
1. Basic Function :
The Cogeneration Engineer plans and directs and controls the electrical power
generation and the electrical reticulation activities to maximize the cost
effectiveness and ensure the quality of the total electrical generation and
reticulation systems with the aim of maximizing Personnel and equipment safety
and minimizing operational cost of the system. Responsible for entire electrical
generation and reticulation systems including standards and specification
design, design review, system development and project completion. The incumbent
is also responsible for the required interfaces with other engineering
disciplines are implemented.
2. Work Performed:
a) Define the required project specification for the electrical generation and
reticulation systems as well as the unit control philosophy to be applied across
the entire project.
b) Correlate all the project specification for the electrical generation and
reticulation as well as the electrical unit control philosophy.
c) Review the design package of Electrical generation and reticulation system
and the electrical unit control across the entire project.
d) Participate in Contract negotiations as required for Cogeneration and
Electrical Reticulation.
e) Guide and supervise the electrical generation, reticulation and control team
and individual in electrical aspects of the project.
f) Assist the main plant’s process engineers to ensure that their plants
electrical needs are met.
g) Determine the optimum power management system to be utilized at the site.
h) Ensure the integration of electrical system to process control, mechanical,
security, fire detection and prevention and MIS systems and equipment.
i) Ensure that all electrical controls designs provide for maximized personnel
and equipment safety.
j) Coordinate and contribute in defining the requirement for all project
electrical systems.
k) Ensure the required quality and management standards and documentation
systems are incorporated and maintained.
l) Assist in the production of electrical operating and safe working procedures
and assist in the formation of the Complex’s Electrical maintenance section.
m) Provide on job training for Saudi employee, as per Company policy.
n) Participate in apply safety and quality management principles and process.
o) Provide relevant inputs to various types of records. Prepare periodical plan
and analysis report on progress of projects.
p) Attend required meetings to present electrical status and progress and give
briefings and presentation.
q) Perform any other duties with similar scope as may be required.
3. Work Contacts:
Normal contact with immediate associates and own level with his and their
departments in addition to next higher level within the department regarding the
project design, planning and analysis recommendation. He communicates through
personal, telephone, email and meeting contacts. He also has regularly contact
with consultants and contractors regarding project requirements and with next
higher level for reporting and recommendation.

6. Work Environment:
Normally air condition office environment
Commonly visits construction & contractor sits where exposed to environmental
condition.
7. Minimum Requirements:
a. B.Sc., in electrical engineering (heavy current) and,
b. Minimum 3 years experience as a project engineer or manager of complex
projects relating to Power generation from steam, electrical reticulation and
power management of large sites and,
c. Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience as section engineer in charge of
electrical maintenance of a extensive and complex chemical, petro-chemical or
mining complex and,
d. Familiar with Computerized power management systems.
e. Familiar with Computerized process control systems and experienced in the use
thereof.
f. Very Good knowledge of English.
g. Computer literate and experienced in the use of PC application.
h. Familiar with thermodynamics and steam would be advantageous.
