responsibility for all aspects of marine safety, quality and contractor
management. He/She will have a 'dotted' reporting line to the HSEQ Team
Leader and the offshore Port Captains. Master Mariner Class 1/2 Degree
of equivalent university degree relating to Offshore Operations,
Commercial or business is preferred.
Minimum 5-10 years experience in offshore marine operations is desired.

The candidate should be BE., M.TECH in Chemical Engineering with 7-10
yrs experience, age group 30-35 yrs The person should have experience in
basic and detailed engineering for refinery, gas processing and or

Job Responsibilities: To advice on, develop and maintain the Company's
safety and fire policies, systems, procedures and regulations to prevent
accidents and damages. To provide expert advice to the company and to
HSE Dept. on all relevant matters and promote safety awareness in the
company.
Roles & Responsibilities: The candidate's roles & responsibilities
should include but not be limited to:
1. Provides professional guidance and advice to operating facilities on
all aspects of loss control/prevention.
2. Develops, prepares, reviews, issues and updates the company safety
regulations, codes of safe practice, safety manuals and emergency plans
and procedures, incorporating UAE statutory requirements and recognized
international standards.
3. Plans, supervises and coordinates major safety audits for the Plant,
prepares terms of reference and guidelines of members of the safety
audit teams and monitors compliance with safe-work policies and
procedures.
4. Develops contingency plans and emergency procedures for control of
major incidents, discusses with the plant concerned and submits for
Management approval.
5. Initiates and advises on implementation of safety awareness campaigns
and safety incentive schemes in collaboration with the plant to promote
safety consciousness among employees.
6. Prepares and updates Company policy on "Contractor Safety" and
advises on safety aspects and the responsibilities of the company and
the Contractor while performing the work.
7. Investigates and/or reviews plant reports on major accidents,
environmental incidents of gas, noise and pollution and 'near-miss"
situations and submits findings and recommendations to Management to
prevent recurrence.
8. Recommends protection methods to reduce insurance premium. Liaisons
with Insurance company and Budget & Cost control for bringing about
cost-effectiveness. Liaisons with Medical service provider to develop
effective industrial hygiene programs.
9. Communicates with Government Departments on matters relating to fire,
safety, environment and major incidents and with international safety
institutes on safety matters.
10. Develops and implements suitable training programmers for employees
and contractors.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in a science, Engineering
discipline or equivalent. Twelve (12) years experience in safety, fire,
health and environment protection and fire insurance work, preferably in
the oil/gas or petrochemical industry. Five (5) years of which in a
senior supervisory position. Good spoken and written English. Position
Type: Contract Hire. Salary: Lump sum monthly Dhs 30,000/- plus.
