IT Support Engineer


Responsibilities:


- Managing windows servers, network switches and firewalls.
- Support end users for all hardware and software problems including network, printer, email and business applications.
- User support service; take ownership and manage all support cases via ticketing systems, provide regular updates to end users/ requesters and
close tickets within agreed timescales.
- Problem escalation, network management reports and trend analysis.
- Vendor escalation, chase 3rd party vendors and suppliers for regular updates and escalate where necessary.
- Configuration of network/firewall nodes in response to Incident/Service requests.
- Coordination of equipment replacement for service restoration.
- Focus on process improvement in the support department to increase efficiency.
- Adhere to QHSE policies of the Company.


Qualifications & Experience:


- Bachelor’s Degree in IT/ Computers / Communication or any related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance and operation of small to medium networks and proven experience in IT Support.
- Troubleshooting issues related to owned and managed network and security devices e.g. switches, firewalls, Routers etc.
- Experience in systems management, monitoring and repair of Servers, PCs, Peripheral equipment and software installation.
- Extensive knowledge in Marine communication systems.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be a good team player.
- CCNA certification is a must
- Microsoft certification is highly desirable.

Job Description


Software Engineer is responsible for development, deployment and maintenance of highly scalable windows based software solutions for in house software requirements on the Microsoft Platform using C# / ASP.net and SQL Server 2005 /
2008.


Requirements


• Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in IT, Computer Science.
• 3-5 years of intensive .NET experience.
• 3+ years of software engineering experience focusing on windows and Web
based application development.


Skills


•Thorough knowledge of object oriented analysis and design principle, UML, design patterns and software development life cycle.
• High proficiency in .NET Framework 3.0 & higher, C# / ASP.net, AJAX , Java scripts, Crystal Reports, WPF
• Strong MS SQL Server development experience.
• Knowledge and high degree of comfort with development across all  application tiers: UI, service layer, business objects, data access, schema/ modeling.
• Knowledge in Networking, hardware & IT supporting experience would be an advantage.
